Technopolis Ozas Gains Lithuania’s First LEED Certification

All three Technopolis Ozas buildings have now received Gold-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificates. Beta building was the first one in Lithuania to receive the certification. Technopolis used Green Building Partners as their LEED consultant.

The LEED certifications ensure the quality of maintenance and the indoor environment, as well as the eco-efficiency of building operations. The certifications are verified by the US Green Building Council. At the moment the Technopolis Ozas campus is occupied by 14 international and local companies employing approximately 3,700 people.

“Environmental responsibility has played an essential role in Technopolis’ operations. We aim to offer added value to both our existing and prospective customers. It is important for us to demonstrate Technopolis’ quality, and the internationally recognized third-party certification is part of our process of assuring quality”, says Lina Paukste, Director of Vilnius Business Unit. “We are very proud to have the first building in Lithuania with a LEED certificate.”

The Technopolis Ozas campus has three existing office buildings, while two new ones are underway. The new buildings are also being built according to LEED criteria and are expected to be ready by the end of 2016. With the new buildings, the total gross leasable area of the campus will increase from approximately 42,300 square meters to around 65,000 square meters.
